Vertical Lift Senior Integration & Future Programmes Manager
Boeing Defence UK (BDUK) is seeking a Manager to lead a team in delivering key proposals, growth, and governance across the Chinook and Apache programmes. As the Vertical Lift Senior Integration & Future Programmes Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of programme performance and will have line management responsibility for a core team of project managers and PMOs.
This role will support the Vertical Lift Leadership team in the mobilization of new programmes, drive strong governance, and ensure functional excellence and best practices are employed across the growing portfolio. You will also have oversight and accountability for delivering complex improvement projects to ensure sustainment services are executed flawlessly for our front-line customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead execution of complex programme management activities across a portfolio of projects.
- Lead a cross-functional leadership team in a matrix organization.
- Hold P&L responsibility for the assigned portfolio and lead programme financial business reviews.
- Implement and maintain established processes for programme execution across multiple work packages (Technical, AC Maintenance, Material, Training).
- Prevent and resolve complex problems and integrate the implementation of Programme Management Best Practices.
- Implement customer and programme communication and contact plans.
- Build high-performing teams to achieve business and customer objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders, adopting a partnering approach to deliver commitments in support of the Armed Forces.
- Lead Continuous Improvement of Programme Management best practices, design and streamline models and processes.
- Select, evaluate, and apply company standards, policies, and procedures.
- Establish high-level professional networks and customer/supplier rapport.
- Partner in the development of business unit strategy and achievement of long-term strategies.
- Lead the development of programme architecture and top-level plans, including organizational work structures and integration interfaces.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven track record of successful programme delivery with strong leadership and motivational skills.

- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.
- Strong knowledge of functional disciplines and experience managing supply chain partners.
- Subject matter expert in programme and project management with extensive experience in leading large, complex international programmes.
- Experience in managing a portfolio of projects and demonstrating technical application of detailed prioritization and problem-solving.
- Experience in setting expectations, managing, and influencing customer stakeholders.
- Proven work history in a programme management environment, executing complex programmes, ideally within the Defence and/or Aerospace/Training sector (Rotorcraft preferred).
- Familiarity with specialized process tools and materials, including Microsoft Office Suite, Project, SharePoint, and risk/issue/contract management systems.
- Ability to deal effectively with complex issues, problems, or opportunities and determine action needed.
- Ability to serve as a role model in communicating expectations, goals, and future states clearly and engagingly.
- Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with team members and external customers, fostering inclusion and value.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

- Ability to effectively lead project execution using recognized best practices in Integrated Business Acquisition, Programme Management, Project Management, and Supply Chain Management.
- Extensive knowledge of Programme and Project Management theory, concepts, and principles (e.g., risk management, change management, critical path methodology).
- Extensive knowledge of Boeing or equivalent industry-recognized Programme Management Best Practices and theory.
- Knowledge of US ITAR requirements.
