Boeing Defence UK is offering an exciting 18-month programme designed to develop motivated individuals into professional Aircraft Maintainers, contributing to world-class engineering operations across our UK sites.
About the Programme:
The 'Boeing Aircraft Maintenance Technician Pathway Route to Aero Programme' provides a unique opportunity for individuals with mechanical or electrical maintenance experience to transition into aerospace. This immersive programme will equip you with the skills and knowledge to maintain rotary wing platforms, specifically the Apache helicopter, located at AAC Middle Wallop. You will study towards completing your Aviation Maintenance Mechanic Apprenticeship standard.
Programme Structure:
- Duration: 18 months
- Phase 1: 3 months of theoretical training at CEMAST College, Fareham.
- Phase 2: On-the-job practical training and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance.
- Carry out aircraft modifications.
- Utilise and adhere to approved maintenance documentation, Health & Safety policies, and procedures.
- Work efficiently to meet given time scales and respond to changing demands.
- Collaborate with skilled engineers to gain comprehensive training across all disciplines (airframe, propulsion, avionics).

Basic Qualifications:

- Recognised engineering apprenticeship (non-aerospace) or Nationally Recognised Engineering qualification (non-aerospace).
- Minimum of 5 years of UK residency to gain/hold UK Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years' experience.
- Proficiency in using hand tools.
- Electrical Wiring Installation/Repair Experience.
- 5 GCSEs (including Maths and English).

- This position may require shift work.
