Role Description:

We are seeking a Senior Engineer to lead product design and systems engineering activities for both new and legacy products. This will involve comprehensive requirements management and the preparation of essential engineering deliverables and technical reports. You will serve as the technical lead for your designated programmes, which may encompass new product development, the evolution of existing products, and support for the manufacture of in-service products. Collaborating with the Portfolio Manager, you will also be responsible for overall programme delivery.

Core Duties:

• Lead product design and systems engineering for new and legacy products.
• Champion safety across products, processes, trials, and team working practices.
• Lead engineering teams to deliver programmes safely, effectively, and on schedule.
• Manage engineering risks, opportunities, and governance throughout the development lifecycle.
• Drive robust systems engineering processes, product improvements, and technology integration.
• Plan and deliver trials, technical reports, and engineering outputs, ensuring appropriate resources and capability are in place.

The Fuze & Guidance Team:

Become a part of a multidisciplinary engineering team dedicated to the design, development, manufacture, and verification of new and legacy munitions. BAE Systems Land UK is looking for a Senior Fuze Engineer to lead the delivery of mechanical or electronic fuze programmes at our Glascoed site in South Wales.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Electronic Engineering, or an Apprenticeship with HNC/HND in Mechanical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven track record of leading and managing Engineering tasks and projects.
• Proven ability to produce high-quality engineering deliverables and technical reports within time and budget constraints.
• The ability to mentor and develop others.
• A good understanding of trials, tests, and evaluation of products and/or processes.
