About the Role

Rheinmetall Defence UK Ltd is seeking an energetic and self-motivated 1st Line IT Support Engineer to join our growing team at our Bristol location. Reporting directly to the IT Support Manager, you will play a crucial role in providing vital technical support for the ongoing IT needs of the business. This strategic position requires first-line technical skills to support the transition and drive the long-term growth of our Information Management & Technology (IM&T) division.

The primary location for this role is our Bristol head office, with occasional UK travel required to support our other group sites.

Position Responsibilities

  • Act as the initial point of contact for local IT issues, providing troubleshooting and low-level fixes, and supporting escalations as required.
  • Help manage and maintain the primary IT infrastructure, server rooms, and localized hardware & software assets at the Bristol office.
  • Occasionally travel to secondary Rheinmetall Defence UK facilities to support deployments, upgrades, and local infrastructure projects.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and proactively implement modern IT solutions to support a rapidly expanding user base.
  • Help develop and maintain core IT processes and policies that comply with internal guidelines and security requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to policies, processes, procedures, and best practices throughout the delivery of IT services, including educating users on compliance and cyber security rules.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong background operating in a 1st line systems administration or infrastructure support role.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 environments, Windows, Active Directory, Group Policy, Cloud systems, and Intune.
  • Experience with ITIL and ITSM platforms like ServiceNow.
  • Experience managing and supporting applications, Entra/Azure/Microsoft Intune, Power Platform, Automation/Optimization, Security stacks, SharePoint, 365 Environments, Teams, Exchange Online, AI Integration, and ServiceNow.
  • A strong IT background with demonstrable experience in an IT department or MSP, ideally with corporate IT experience.
  • Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate, and manage key stakeholders and suppliers.
  • High energy, strong self-motivation, and a flexible mindset.
  • Must hold, or be fully eligible to obtain, UK Security Check (SC) clearance.
  • Full UK driving licence.
