About the Role
BAE Systems is seeking experienced 1st Class CNC Machinists to join our Battlespace Integrated Solutions Business Unit at Edinburgh Parks, South Australia. With multiple large, long-term contracts secured, we need skilled individuals capable across various CNC machine types, manual machining, and fitting experience. This is an opportunity to join our day, afternoon, or night shift teams and contribute to advanced manufacturing.
Core Duties
- Perform computer numerical control (CNC) machining tasks related to defence requirements.
- Undertake CNC component machining, demonstrating flexibility across a range of CNC machines for various defence projects to meet scheduled deadlines.
- Ensure all appropriate documentation for engineering systems and defect reporting are incorporated for traceability.
- Liaise with BAE Systems’ Quality staff to ensure compliance with project quality requirements.
- Comply with BAE Systems Safety, Health, and Environment procedures and Quality systems.
- Identify and report potential or known problems affecting the quality of BAE Systems’ products and services.
- Provide input and recommendations for the improvement of company processes and procedures.
- Validate parts during the manufacturing process.
About You
- Possess a Mechanical trade certificate.
- Have proven CNC machining experience.
- Manual Machining and Fitting experience is preferred.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a defence security clearance of “Baseline” and be cleared for International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
- Demonstrate a strong team focus and a 'can-do' attitude.
- Exhibit effective communication skills with all stakeholders.
- Availability for day shift (7:00 am - 3:30 pm, Monday-Friday).
- Availability for afternoon shift (3:00 pm - 12:00 am, Monday-Friday).
- Availability for night shift (12:00 pm - 8:00 am, Sunday-Thursday).
