Role Overview:

The Project Engineer – ATM will lead the Air Traffic Management (ATM) Project team, working under the direction of the PEM to ensure a systems-oriented, integrated approach through project engineering development and verification. This role is critical in providing ongoing support to the Surveillance & Control System Program Office (S&CSPO) and their suite of ATM systems, including FTACAN, DTACAN, AMACCS, TVSS platforms, and ATCOM services. The geographically dispersed system sites across Australia, operated and maintained by the RAAF and BAE Systems personnel, present a complex and engaging work environment.

Core Duties:

• Derive, analyse, and manage electrical system/equipment requirements.
• Participate in requirements reviews.
• Independently review peers’ work, identify technical risks and unknowns, and support planning activities.
• Undertake engineering management of the electrical system/equipment manufacture.
• Perform System Engineering activities in compliance with the BAE Systems Engineering Lifecycle as specified in the Business Management System (BMS), including requirements management, functional analysis, candidate solution development, system design, system analysis, integration, system tests, acceptance tests, and certification.
• Support electrical systems/equipment qualification activities to ensure product compliance with all requirements, including safety and regulatory standards.
• Maintain the design and its documentation in accordance with applicable configuration management, change management, and traceability processes.
• Manage direct reports with technical skill sets, providing direction and support.

Key Criteria:

• A background in Electrical, RF, ICT, Networking, or Systems engineering is desirable.
• Understanding of protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and SNMP is desirable.
• Experience handling budgeting and scheduling for projects under $500K is advantageous.
• Experience with Maximo and/or CAMM2 is considered advantageous.
• Must hold a Defence security clearance or be eligible to obtain an NV1 clearance.
• Must be eligible for clearance for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations.
• This role requires a Foreign Work Authorisation (FWA).
