About the Role:
As a Flight Systems Engineer within the Crew Systems Team, you will focus on crew escape, oxygen/life support, and aircrew equipment. This cross-platform role spans programmes including Typhoon, Hawk, F-35, and Tornado. You will be instrumental in developing and providing technical expertise for the engineering specification, development, clearance, and support of these critical systems.
Core Duties:
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert, supporting Technical Leads within Crew Systems.
- Serve as the lead engineer for major capability upgrade programmes.
- Provide support for critical design, development, and performance control documentation across all delivery streams.
- Assist with specific problem resolution across all delivery streams.
- Estimate costs and timescales for activities throughout the systems engineering lifecycle.
- Coordinate all appropriate activities within the Crew Systems team and its members.
- Manage risk, maintain quality standards, and ensure compliance with all safety requirements.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with interfacing disciplines, suppliers, and customers.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Degree/HND or equivalent experience in a STEM-related discipline.
- Proven Systems Engineering or Support Engineering experience, with a strong focus on mechanical systems.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the full engineering lifecycle of a product.
- Knowledge of flight systems is desirable.
The Flight Systems Team:
The Flight Systems team at Warton is a multi-disciplinary group of highly skilled engineers. We are responsible for the design, specification, development, testing, safety, and through-life support of aircraft mechanical and electrical generation systems. The team also supports new business proposals and manages specialist suppliers of aircraft system components and associated support equipment.
