About the Role

Rheinmetall Electronics UK Ltd. is seeking a Finance Project Controller to join their team in Newport, Isle of Wight. This full-time, permanent role is crucial for supporting Programme and Portfolio Management by delivering accurate financial reporting, forecasting, and ERP data management using SAP. The position ensures financial transparency and control across projects, aligning with company financial strategy and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in financial data analysis within a technology-led manufacturing setting, with a proven track record of implementing robust controls and providing accurate reports to cross-functional teams. While accountability for project delivery, scope, and schedule remains with Project Managers, this role focuses on the financial data, reporting, and performance aspects.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Experience in project finance, project control, or FP&A, ideally in manufacturing or defence.
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Experience managing project financials in a complex environment.
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Understanding of MOD accounting principles (RDEL, CDEL, VAT).
  • Understanding of project lifecycle and cost structures in engineering/manufacturing.
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and data integrity.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain Security Clearance for UK Defence Sector projects.

Desirable:

  • Experience supporting PMO or programme environments.
  • Knowledge of defence or regulated industry requirements.
  • Familiarity with earned value or project performance metrics (financial interpretation only).
