About the Role
Boeing is seeking motivated individuals for a three-month summer internship in 2027 with the Global Technology team at the Boeing Aerospace Innovation Centre (AIC) in Prestwick, Scotland. Our team of approximately 60 individuals focuses on developing innovative, cutting-edge technology in areas such as robotics, automation, composite fabrication, and digital engineering. You will be part of a multi-skilled engineering team working in a state-of-the-art, 100,000ft2 research facility at Prestwick International Airport, contributing to the development of next-generation aircraft manufacturing technologies.
Your Internship Experience
As a Research and Technology (R&T) intern, you will be assigned a real-life industrial challenge to solve during your three-month placement. Working independently or within a small team, you will receive the necessary tools and support from our highly skilled R&T professionals to develop innovative and cost-effective solutions. The role involves a blend of office-based planning and workshop-based development and delivery of a working solution.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Understanding and defining project requirements.
- Assisting with budget and schedule planning.
- Conducting landscaping and down-selecting potential solutions.
- Designing, developing, and validating solutions through small-scale prototypes and testing.
- Building relationships with stakeholders and fellow team members.
- Reporting progress to key stakeholders and senior management.
Skills and Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who are:
- Confident and clear communicators.
- Proficient users of MS Office tools.
- Proactive problem-solvers.
- Able to manage their own time and workload effectively.

Basic Qualifications:
- Right to work in the UK. Boeing does not sponsor employment visa status.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Currently studying towards a BEng/MEng in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
Important Information
Work Authorization: This is a locally hired position in the UK. Candidates must have current legal authorization to work immediately in the United Kingdom. Boeing will not provide immigration or labour sponsorship.
Relocation: This position does not offer relocation assistance. Candidates must reside in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
