Role Overview:

The Electronics Engineer will provide essential technical expertise in the electronic aspects of Underwater Systems hardware, covering design, repair, obsolescence, and sustainment. This role is crucial for supporting legacy products through the integration of new technologies, applying broad engineering knowledge and experience within established company frameworks.

Core Duties:

• Support existing electronic designs and technology insertion programmes, including fault diagnosis, rectification, and obsolescence management.
• Design and develop electronic assemblies, managing the process from requirements and specification through detailed design, testing, integration, and release into service.
• Develop component-level analogue, mixed-signal, and power electronic designs, encompassing component selection, schematic capture, simulation, and support for PCB layout.
• Perform design verification and testing, including EMC/EMI, applicable regulatory requirements, and data communication interfaces and protocols.
• Contribute to design for manufacture and production, including specifying components, bespoke items, and managing parts information within SAP.
• Collaborate effectively with related disciplines such as Mechanical Engineering, ILS, Safety, and Production to support system integration and electro-mechanical interfaces.
• Apply the engineering lifecycle and governance, actively contributing to technical progress reviews, peer reviews, and design reviews.

Essential Skills & Experience:

• HND or Degree in Electronic Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience generating component-level electronic designs using electronic CAD tools.
• Demonstrated experience in analogue and mixed-signal design, including filtering and signal conditioning techniques.
• Experience in power supply design, covering grounding, decoupling, and power electronics techniques.
• Experience with sonar, RF, signal processing, or FPGA/CPLD design is desirable.

About the Team & Working Arrangements:

As an Electronics Engineer, you will undertake design and electrical integration for legacy products and technology insertion. You will also be responsible for the design elements and obsolescence of the electrical aspects of the Underwater System and associated equipment.
