Role Overview
At Babcock, we are dedicated to creating a safe and secure world. As an Electrical Installation Technician based in Ashchurch, near Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, you will play a crucial role in delivering essential engineering and technology solutions within our Mission Technologies business.
The Role
This is a hands-on position at the forefront of critical defence and aerospace programmes. You will be responsible for installing, configuring, and commissioning a variety of electrical, mechanical, and system-based equipment that underpins vital national infrastructure projects. The role is varied and dynamic, offering opportunities to work across different environments in the UK and overseas. Key Responsibilities
- Installing, testing, and commissioning electrical, mechanical, and integrated systems to meet specific project requirements.
- Supporting system integration activities across a range of engineering environments.
- Strictly following health and safety procedures to ensure the safe delivery of all installation work.
- Collaborating effectively with project teams and stakeholders to achieve high-quality project outcomes.
- Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues that arise during installation and commissioning phases.
Essential Experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of and compliance with Health and Safety policy and regulations relevant to the role.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Word, SharePoint, and Excel.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships, supported by on-the-job learning and formal training.
Qualifications
- Possession of, or working towards, the 18th edition BS7671 qualification.
- A City & Guilds 2392 level 3 certificate of inspection and testing of electrical installations.
- A full UK Driving Licence is required.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance. Applicants must be Sole UK Nationals. Eligibility for this role may be affected by your nationality, place of birth, current or former citizenship, and residency status.
