Core Duties:

• Support the administration of existing IT systems and contribute to the development of new ones, focusing on best practice operational management, reporting, and security.
• Support the creation, maintenance, and improvement of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline the software development lifecycle.
• Maintain Infrastructure as Code developed by senior engineers using tools like Terraform to manage and provision cloud resources effectively.
• Provide support for operational tasks and assist in troubleshooting issues with cloud and server systems, and help integrate monitoring systems for rapid reporting.
• Document design work, standards, and procedures according to required methods and tools to a high standard.
• Apply quality standards and participate in testing and examining code and platform components.

Essential Skills:

• Demonstrated experience managing Microsoft Server and associated components in an enterprise setting.
• Demonstrated experience managing cloud platforms, specifically Azure.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, particularly Terraform.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools like Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
• Experience with scripting languages.
• Hands-on management experience of traditional Active Directory and Infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience managing backups, client management tools, security monitoring, and software deployment toolsets.

The Team:

You will work with and support Senior DevOps Engineers to facilitate smooth collaboration between development and operations teams. Your focus will be on tasks including the management of multiple development environments, automating infrastructure (Infrastructure as Code), managing and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines, maintaining cloud environments, troubleshooting systems, Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) management, and documentation. Key skills include an understanding of infrastructure networking both on-premise and cloud, exposure to Terraform and Jenkins/GitHub Actions, and an aptitude for learning.

This role would suit an experienced Operations engineer, comfortable supporting and managing both on-premise hosted and cloud environments who has some previous experience of learning/practicing or managing DevOps tools and processes and a desire to develop towards a Dev Ops specialisation, supported by Senior Dev Ops engineers.
