Rheinmetall Weapon Munitions UK Limited (RWM UK) is establishing one of Europe's most modern production facilities in Telford for large calibre weapon systems. We are seeking experienced CNC Operators specialising in Milling Technology to join our team for the "UK Gun Hall" project.
About the Role:
As a CNC Operator, you will be responsible for the preparation, set-up, and operation of large CNC machines, including 5-axis milling machines and wire eroding machines. You will be machining high-quality components for large calibre weapons systems, ensuring adherence to very tight tolerances. This role operates within a 3-shift system and requires production according to SAP orders and instructions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation, set-up and operation of large CNC machines (CNC milling machines, 5-axis machines, wire eroding machines, grinding machines).
- Machining of high-quality components for large calibre weapons systems with very tight tolerances.
- Production according to SAP production orders and production instructions.
- Checking and measuring finished components according to technical specifications and/or test plans, including regular worker self-checks.
- Reporting production metrics through the factory data collection system.
- Selecting correct tools for tasks according to SWI (Standard Work Instructions).
- Providing input for continuous improvement of related processes, worksteps, and tools.
- Reporting to and supporting maintenance teams to fix equipment issues.
What We Are Looking For:
- Proven experience as a CNC Operator, with specific knowledge of CNC milling technology.
- Ability to read and understand specifications, technical drawings, work instructions, and test procedures.
- Competence in using jigs, fixtures, hand tools, and relevant equipment.
- Proficiency in using measuring equipment for self-checks.
- Understanding and application of quality control principles within a production line.
- A motivated and disciplined individual with an excellent work ethic, technical aptitude, a continuous improvement mindset, and strong attention to detail.
