About the Role
Rheinmetall Weapon Munitions UK Limited (RWM UK) is establishing one of Europe's most modern production facilities in Telford, the "UK Gun Hall" project. As a CNC Operator specializing in Turning Technology, you will be integral to this exciting new venture, contributing to the production and maintenance of large calibre weapon systems.
What You Will Be Doing
- Preparation, set-up, and operation of large CNC machines (including CNC-turning, deep-drilling, honing, and rifling machines) in a 3-shift operation.
- Machining high-quality components for large calibre weapons systems, some up to 10m in length, requiring very tight tolerances.
- Following SAP production orders and production instructions precisely.
- Checking and measuring finished components against technical specifications and/or test plans, including conducting regular worker self-checks at each production step.
- Reporting production metrics accurately through the factory data collection system.
- Selecting the correct tools for tasks as per Standard Work Instructions (SWI).
- Providing input for the continuous improvement of related processes, worksteps, and tools to enhance overall performance.
- Reporting to and supporting the maintenance team in resolving equipment issues.
What Qualifications You Should Have
- Proven experience as a CNC Operator with a strong understanding of CNC-turning technology.
- Ability to read and interpret specifications, technical drawings, work instructions, and test procedures.
- Proficiency in using jigs, fixtures, hand tools, and related equipment.
- Competence in using measuring equipment for performing worker self-checks.
- A solid understanding and application of quality control principles within a production line environment.
- A motivated and disciplined approach with an excellent work ethic, strong technical aptitude, a mindset for continuous improvement, and demonstrated attention to detail.
