About Rheinmetall Weapon Munitions UK Ltd
Rheinmetall is establishing one of Europe's most modern production facilities in Telford with the "UK Gun Hall" project. Rheinmetall Weapon Munitions UK Limited (RWM UK) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Rheinmetall Group, serving as the centre of excellence for the production and maintenance of large calibre weapon systems in the United Kingdom. We specialize in 120 mm smoothbore weapon systems for main battle tanks and 155 mm artillery systems, leveraging the Group's extensive expertise to serve British and international customers.
What You Will Be Doing
- Preparation, set-up, and operation of large CNC machines, including 5-axis CNC milling machines, wire eroding machines, and grinding machines, within a 3-shift operation.
- Machining of high-quality components for large calibre weapons systems, adhering to very tight tolerances.
- Production according to SAP production orders and instructions.
- Checking and measuring finished components against technical specifications and test plans, including regular worker self-checks at each production step.
- Reporting production metrics through the factory data collection system.
- Selecting the correct tools for tasks according to Standard Work Instructions (SWI).
- Providing input for the continuous improvement of related processes, worksteps, and tools to enhance overall performance.
- Reporting to and supporting the maintenance team in resolving equipment issues.
What Qualifications You Should Have
- Experience as a CNC Operator with knowledge of CNC machines, particularly in milling technology.
- Ability to read and understand specifications, technical drawings, work instructions, and test procedures.
- Competence in using jigs, fixtures, hand tools, and equipment.
- Proficiency in using measuring equipment for worker self-checks.
- Understanding and application of quality control within the production line.
- A motivated and disciplined approach with an excellent work ethic, technical aptitude, a continuous improvement mindset, and strong attention to detail.
