Systems Test Manager - SATCOM Projects
Airbus Defence and Space Limited is seeking a full-time Systems Test Manager to join their team in Portsmouth. This STEM returner role is perfect for experienced professionals looking to make a significant impact in the defence sector.
About the Role:
This role focuses on end-to-end SATCOM projects, including Ground Segments, Ground stations, Modems, and user terminals, serving Government, MOD, and Milsat customers. You will be instrumental in defining business policies, procedures, processes, and practices related to testing and verification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Join diverse project teams from R&D to acceptance phases, adapting to fast-paced bid projects.
- Champion customer requirements and testing teams, ensuring project delivery on Time, Cost, and Quality (TCQ).
- Continuously improve engineering practices by staying updated with technological advancements.
- Manage the production of test and verification strategies/plans, including Validation and Verification (V&V).
- Train other engineers on the importance of rigorous testing aligned with project requirements.
- Conduct acceptance testing on customer sites as required.
What You'll Need:
To be successful in this role, you must have experience in one or more of the following:
- Installation, Verification, and Validation (IV&V).
- Test Stubs (Lower-level modules) and Top-Down Integration Testing.
- Test Drivers (Higher-level modules) and Bottom-Up Integration Testing.
- Experience testing hardware, firmware, and software interactions.
- Domain experience in SATCOM, Ground Segments, Ground stations, Modems, or user terminals.
