Technical Sales Manager - LGE Rosyth

At Babcock, we are dedicated to creating a safe and secure world. We are seeking a motivated Technical Sales Manager to join our team at LGE Rosyth, near Rosyth, Fife. This role is instrumental in advancing our commercial strategy across international markets, bringing cutting-edge marine engineering solutions to clients globally.

As a Technical Sales Manager, you will influence the growth of a global leader at the forefront of defence, aerospace, and engineering innovation. You will be responsible for translating technical expertise into compelling proposals, nurturing customer relationships, and supporting the development of impactful products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of the company's commercial strategy, contributing to tendering processes and shaping successful solutions.
  • Build strong, lasting customer relationships by understanding client needs and providing valuable market insights.
  • Develop high-quality, technically compliant, and competitive submissions across our product portfolio.
  • Manage risks and opportunities throughout the business-winning lifecycle, ensuring effective communication and mitigation.
  • Promote commercial compliance, maintain governance, and support due diligence activities.

This is a full-time, permanent role working 37.5 hours per week. The primary base is LGE Rosyth, with an expectation of travel to customer sites and international locations.

Essential Experience and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a Technical Superintendent, Marine Engineer, Chief Engineer, Fleet Manager, or equivalent marine technical leadership role is highly advantageous.
  • Proven ability to develop trusted relationships with shipowners, operators, and senior technical stakeholders.
  • A commercially minded, engaging professional capable of articulating complex technical solutions as compelling customer value propositions.
  • Highly motivated, energetic, and customer-focused with a drive to identify opportunities and influence decision-makers.
  • Strong cultural awareness and the ability to work effectively in international markets.
  • Sound understanding of LGE product offerings and the ability to deliver confident technical presentations.
  • Demonstrated experience presenting technical solutions, leading discussions, and communicating with senior stakeholders.
  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent marine engineering qualification. Applications from senior marine professionals with commercial aptitude are encouraged.
  • Extended industrial experience relevant to technical sales or engineering environments.

Security Clearance:

The successful candidate must be a sole UK National who can achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance.
