About the Role:
MBDA is a leader in one of the most exciting and challenging programmes within Defence, focused on designing and delivering Future Combat Air Systems (FCAS) for the RAF and international partners at an unprecedented pace. This role is central to the FCAS design and development phase, ensuring all elements integrate seamlessly to deliver effects throughout an engagement. Optimising effects within a complex, interlinking combat air system is crucial for FCAS success, and your contribution will be vital in ensuring the system is fit for purpose.
Your Responsibilities:
As an experienced engineer within the System Performance team, you will operate with autonomy and authority. Your key responsibilities will include conducting a series of studies by developing and utilising the Matlab-Simulink based System Model. This will demonstrate, prove, and assess how to optimise the effectiveness of kinetic and EW-enabled weapons in a quantified manner. You will collaborate closely with other teams to translate these findings into requirements and influence the overall FCAS design.
What We're Looking For:
- A strong eagerness to collaborate and work effectively with colleagues, other engineering teams, and stakeholders.
- Experience developing reusable programmes in a high-level programming language (e.g., Matlab, Python, C++) is a significant advantage.
- A proactive approach to working autonomously and taking ownership of delivery.
- Experience or a strong willingness to learn and operate within a tailored agile framework, adopting AGILE values and behaviours.
- Experience in creating dynamic models of interlinked systems would be beneficial.
- Experience in analysing system behaviour and/or deriving/proving system requirements would be advantageous.
