Internship: Take-off Performance Optimization
Are you a student looking for an internship or gap year opportunity to validate your diploma and launch your career? Airbus Commercial in Toulouse is offering a unique internship focused on optimizing aircraft take-off performance.
You will join the aircraft performance department and contribute to analyzing in-service data to reveal hidden operational margins. This role involves comparing theoretical models with operational reality to measure the impact of obstacle definitions and operator practices, with the goal of achieving genuine performance gains.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and compare obstacle databases to identify potential conservatisms and estimate their impact on calculations.
- Utilize in-service data to analyze discrepancies between theoretical models and operational reality, and the impact of various airline practices.
- Quantify missed opportunities due to current practices and propose specific optimization recommendations.
- Develop Python scripts to automate the analysis methodology for future studies.
Candidate Profile:
- Currently pursuing a Master's degree (Bac +4/5 or equivalent) in Aeronautical Engineering (aircraft performance/flight operations) and/or Data Science.
- Strong knowledge of take-off performance and flight operations.
- Proficient in Python programming and data analysis with a statistical approach.
- Demonstrated curiosity, scientific rigor, and autonomy.
- Advanced English and Intermediate French language skills.
This is a 6-month internship, ideally commencing in January 2027 (start date is indicative and subject to change). You will be supported by a dedicated tutor to help identify your professional goals and develop your skills.
