Spacecraft Operations Engineer
We are seeking a motivated Spacecraft Operations Engineer to join an operations development team. Your primary responsibility will be to design and deliver a fully functional spacecraft operations centre, essential for managing and providing services for a fleet of spacecrafts. This role reports directly to the Head of Space Engineering.
Your Contribution to the Team:
- Provide crucial technical inputs into bid work, including the design of satellite ground stations and network design, preparing for spacecraft operations.
- Following the implementation of the mission, you will actively participate in ground and spacecraft operations to support a functional constellation of spacecraft.
- Engage in building upon an existing project to aid in the development and continuation of the mission.
- Undertake spacecraft operation planning and execution, including telemetry analysis and anomaly investigation, diagnosis, and mitigation.
- Assist in assessing risk elements across all aspects of spacecraft design, build, and test.
- Collaborate closely with the Project Lead to design operational concepts for the mission.
- Contribute to the design and bid work of end-to-end satellite missions.
What We're Looking For:
- A BSc in Systems Engineering, Physics, or an equivalent qualification, OR demonstrable experience working within the Space Industry.
- A keen interest in spacecraft operations and design.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- An interest in programming technical solutions using languages such as Python or MATLAB.
Location and Working Arrangements:
This permanent, full-time role is based in Corsham, Wiltshire, with some hybrid working available subject to our Hybrid Working Policy. We offer a 37-hour week with flexible working around core hours, and Friday afternoons off. You can also benefit from up to 2 additional days per month as TOIL and the option to buy/sell holiday.
Security Clearance:
This position requires you to have or be able to obtain UK Eyes Only SC/DV Security Clearance through the UK Intelligence Community (UKIC) process.
