The Role
As a Small Works Manager within the Estates Delivery discipline, you will lead and manage small maintenance, reactive, and minor works projects. Your role is critical in supporting the delivery of Facilities Management (FM) and estate management projects, ensuring a high standard of service.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Organising small maintenance and minor works projects, and supporting larger projects, in line with QinetiQ/MoD processes and legislation.
- Integrating project teams within the business and fostering a strong Health and Safety culture.
- Collaborating with senior Project Management resources to enhance competence in estates delivery.
- Defining and maintaining the overall aims, objectives, priorities, and scope of the works.
- Defining, agreeing, and managing project budgets, delivering within budget, and reporting progress against cost plans.
- Managing the activities of external advisors, including their appointments, through QinetiQ's Procurement Team Managers.
- Providing technical support and knowledge to maintenance activities.
Essential Experience:
- Developed interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to interact with senior Project Managers.
- Computer literacy, including proficiency in data manipulation, analysis, and presentation using MS Office suite.
- Awareness of sustainability and energy aspects in project delivery.
- Understanding of Building Regulations.
- Understanding of risk management processes and techniques.
- Understanding of the Construction, Design and Management (CDM) Regulations.
Essential Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
- HNC/HND in Building or Construction.
- Full driving licence.
Location and Working Hours:
This role is based at our Shoeburyness site, working 37 hours per week.
