The Role
As a Small Works Manager within the Estates Delivery discipline of UK Defence Operations, you will lead and manage small maintenance, reactive, and minor works. Your role is vital in supporting the delivery of FM and estate management projects across the LTPA and QE Estate, ensuring a high level of service delivery.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve organising small maintenance and minor works projects, as well as supporting the delivery of larger projects. You will operate in line with QinetiQ / MoD processes and legislation, with support from senior Project Management resources, to enhance our competence in estates delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Integrate the project team within the business and embed a Health and Safety culture.
- Define and maintain the overall aims, objectives, priorities, and scope of the works.
- Define and agree on an appropriate budget, deliver projects within budget, and manage/report progress against an agreed cost plan.
- Manage the activities of external advisors, including their appointments, through appointed Procurement Team Managers within QinetiQ.
- Provide technical support and knowledge to maintenance activities.
Essential Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Developing interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage with senior Project Managers.
- Understanding of Building Regulations.
- Understanding of risk management processes and techniques.
- Understanding of the Construction, Design and Management (CDM) Regulations.
- Computer literate with proficiency in data manipulation, analysis, and presentation using MS Office suite.
Essential Qualifications:
- HNC/HND in Building or Construction.
- Full driving licence.

This role is based at our Rosneath site, working 37 hours per week. Travel to other QinetiQ and customer sites across the central belt is expected, with overtime and travel costs covered.
