As a Service Delivery Manager, you will lead the operational delivery of On-Wing Services across a global network of approved Part 145 suppliers and internal Rolls‑Royce mechanics. You will be the accountable leader for service performance, customer relationships, and commercial outcomes, owning the end-to-end delivery of engine maintenance events. Your goal will be to ensure aircraft are returned to service safely, on time, and in line with contractual commitments.
This is a high-visibility leadership role at the intersection of technical operations, supplier management, customer delivery, and commercial performance. It is ideally suited for an individual who combines deep aerospace knowledge with the ability to lead teams, manage complexity, and drive continuous improvement in a dynamic, global, 24/7 environment.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
Service Delivery & Resource Management
- Hold overall accountability for the performance of On-Wing Services operations across all delivery channels.
- Ensure maintenance events are planned, resourced, and executed to the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Maintain strategic oversight of manpower, tooling, and logistics capacity across the supplier network and internal mechanic roster.
- Match the right resource (internal or external) to each job based on capability, location, availability, and cost.
- Set clear performance expectations, lead operational reviews, and intervene decisively when delivery is at risk.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as the primary senior point of contact for On-Wing Services for British Airways & Virgin Atlantic as part of their “Below the Pylon” services.
- Build trusted relationships that underpin long-term commercial partnerships.
- Manage expectations proactively, provide timely updates on job status and emerging risks, and resolve escalations with confidence and professionalism.
- Represent Rolls‑Royce On-Wing Services during customer reviews.
Supplier Network Performance & Development
- Oversee the performance and development of Rolls‑Royce's global Part 145 supplier network, including partners such as HAECO, SIAEC, STS Aviation, and Storm Aviation.
- Hold all delivery partners accountable to Rolls‑Royce performance, quality, and compliance standards.
- Lead structured supplier reviews and manage non-conformances through appropriate governance channels.
- Drive the long-term development and expansion of network capability to meet evolving customer demand.
Safety, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Champion a culture of safety and regulatory compliance across all operations and supplier partners.
- Ensure full adherence to UKCAA/EASA, Part 145, and Rolls‑Royce standards at every stage of delivery.
- Support audit readiness, contribute to investigations into non-conformances or safety events.
- Champion a structured continuous improvement programme, translating lessons learned and performance data into tangible enhancements.
- Lead, coach, and develop your team of technical planners and operational staff, ensuring they have the skills, tools, and frameworks to manage a complex global operation consistently and at pace.
Key Requirements:
You will bring substantial experience in an operational or service delivery role within the aerospace or aviation MRO sector, with a strong working knowledge of On-Wing or line maintenance operations. You will have a proven track record of managing complex customer relationships, leading multidisciplinary teams, and delivering against demanding commercial and operational targets across a multi-supplier environment. Experience within a Part 145 regulatory framework and familiarity with global MRO supplier networks would be a significant advantage.
