Project Management Responsibilities
As a Senior Project Manager based in Rosyth, you will be responsible for leading and delivering specialist construction and Estates management projects across the LTPA and QinetiQ Freehold Estate. Your responsibilities will encompass the full project management lifecycle, from initial planning through to successful execution. The projects will vary, including general building maintenance and refurbishment, as well as more technical requirements/repairs and new build construction.
You will organize the project and its team, integrating the team within the business and embedding a strong Health and Safety culture. A key aspect of this role is developing junior Project Management competence. You will define and maintain the project's overall aims, objectives, priorities, and scope. Furthermore, you will define, agree, and manage the project budget, reporting progress against an agreed cost plan. Management of project documentation, including bids, proposals, and third-party documentation, is also a core responsibility.
Essential Experience
- Broad experience across building & civil engineering projects, electrical and mechanical installations, delivering to time constraints and budget.
- Comfortable working with primary contractors, overseeing technical repairs and building surveys.
- Working knowledge of Planning Application and GPDO processes.
- Detailed knowledge of Building Regulations and Building Control.
- Detailed knowledge of the RIBA process.
- Working knowledge of JSP standards.
- Extensive knowledge of the Construction, Design Management (CDM) Regulations and must have acted as client or similar role on a construction related project.
- Working knowledge of NEC contracts.
Desirable Qualifications
- A professional construction qualification (degree, APM, Prince 2 accreditation, or chartered status).
Work Environment
This role operates on a 37-hour week and is based at our Rosyth facility. An expectation of being onsite 3 days per week on average is required, along with travel to various Scottish sites across the QinetiQ estate.
