About the Role
At Cavendish Nuclear, we are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our team at Hinkley Point C, near Bridgwater, Somerset. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a flagship nuclear new-build programme that is vital for the United Kingdom's energy future. As part of the Hinkley Point C Commissioning Alliance, you will drive complex commissioning work, from planning through to delivery, gaining invaluable experience on one of Europe's largest engineering and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Project Manager in delivering commissioning activities, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, schedule, and cost objectives.
- Define work scope, coordinate interfaces, and ensure effective project execution across multidisciplinary teams.
- Prepare, maintain, and review project documentation, plans, contractor submissions, and technical drawings.
- Monitor project progress, manage risks and issues, and provide accurate reports to key stakeholders.
- Facilitate project meetings and ensure contractual, regulatory, environmental, and quality requirements are met.
Essential Experience
- Quality leadership experience within the nuclear sector or another highly regulated industry.
- Experience supporting large-scale manufacturing and construction projects.
- Proven experience leading, mentoring, and developing quality professionals.
- Experience managing supplier quality activities and working directly with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems and quality governance principles.
Qualifications
- Higher National Certificate, Higher National Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related discipline.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national and able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance.
