Senior Integration and Test Engineer (m/f/d)
Airbus Secure Land Communications GmbH is looking for a Senior Integration and Test Engineer to support the 'Integration, Verification, Test & Configuration Management' department at the Ulm location.
Help us build and secure critical infrastructure! Join the team implementing the technical modernization of Germany's digital radio system, the backbone of all blue light operations in Germany. Over a million users from police, fire departments, rescue services, and disaster control rely on this highly complex system. Work with our experts in radio technology, IT infrastructure, and network architecture to deliver and implement the latest TETRA technology. You will also prepare this network for the transition to broadband technology LTE and 5G.
The demanding requirements for availability and integrity of the highly redundant German digital radio system are in a class of their own: availability of over 99.95%, more than 99% coverage of Germany achieved through more than 4900 base stations.
Support us as a Senior Integration and Test Engineer (m/f/d) in an agile team with the highest quality standards for the successful delivery of this system technology according to DevSecOps principles. You will make an essential contribution to the public safety of our German citizens.

Your Tasks:
Product Ownership & Vision:
- Take over the Product Owner role for the platform team and develop the strategic vision and roadmap for the internal development and integration environments (in coordination with IT management, DevOps, and business departments).
Agile Backlog & Team Management:
- Manage the platform team, prioritize the Product Backlog, and ensure resource provision.
Technology Radar & Innovation:
- Monitor trends (Cloud Infrastructure, Containers, CI/CD) and evaluate the potential of new technologies for the internal platform.
Interfaces & Stakeholders:
- Act as a central liaison and collaborate closely with internal developers, architects, IT security, and external partners.
Security, Compliance & Audits:
- Ensure compliance with policies (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR, BSI IT-Grundschutz) and actively participate in audits.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Completed degree (Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, or similar) and several years of relevant professional experience, ideally as a Product Owner in an infrastructure environment.
Private Cloud & VMware Expertise:
- Sound practical experience in operating productive private clouds (SLA, Backup, Monitoring) and in-depth experience with VMware Cloud Foundation and Omnissa Horizon.
Infrastructure Automation:
- Practical experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible); knowledge of Red Hat OpenShift is an advantage.
Compliance Understanding:
- Basic knowledge of regulatory requirements (ISO 27001, GDPR, BSI IT-Grundschutz) in cloud environments.
Stakeholder & Conflict Management:
- Strong communication skills to coordinate technical and business stakeholders, as well as a team-oriented, conflict-resolving working style.
Personality:
- Sense of responsibility, loyalty, and a high degree of innovation.
Language Skills:
- Fluent German and good English skills (spoken and written).
