About the Security Graduate Programme

Embark on our two-year Security Graduate Programme, based at Rosyth Royal Dockyard, and become integral to safeguarding our projects, people, and information within the marine and nuclear sectors. You'll gain hands-on experience in a highly regulated environment, working across diverse projects, including major shipbuilding programmes like the Type 31 frigate.

Your Role and Development

You will collaborate with teams to ensure robust security measures are implemented from project inception and within supplier contracts. This involves identifying and managing risks, and partnering with customers to meet all required standards. Your contributions will extend to enhancing security policies and promoting awareness in areas such as cyber, information protection, and physical security, while building cross-functional relationships.

Through supporting audits and working alongside experienced Security Managers, you will cultivate a deep understanding of practical security operations. The programme is structured to provide broad experience across various projects, with flexible rotations to expose you to a wide range of work and skill development.

Support and Training

From day one, you'll benefit from structured support, tailored training, and dedicated mentorship. You'll join our Graduate Development Programme, featuring expert-led masterclasses. Specialist courses will broaden your knowledge, covering topics such as the Role of the Facility Security Controller, Personal Security and Vetting, IT and Cyber Security, and Nuclear Security Fundamentals. You will also be supported to gain membership with The Security Institute, with opportunities for Chartered status.

Career Progression

Upon successful completion of the programme, you will transition into a permanent role within our Rosyth Security team, continuing your development. We offer ongoing support for professional chartership and clear career pathways through the Babcock Role Framework, enabling you to grow into more senior roles and take on greater responsibility.

What We're Looking For

You should have achieved, or be on track to achieve, a degree in a Security-related subject, such as Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Security, Digital Forensics, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, Ethical Hacking, or Network Security.

This programme requires you to be able to achieve and maintain Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC) clearance. Due to national security legislation, this post may only be occupied by a sole UK national.

Location

This programme is based at our 320-acre Rosyth facility, one of the largest and most modern waterside advanced manufacturing and repair facilities in the UK. You can expect to spend several days a week on-site, and you must be able to reliably commute to Rosyth by your start date.
