What You’ll Do
During this placement, you will receive comprehensive training and gain valuable experience in key areas including water chemistry, oils chemistry, confined space testing, and radionuclide analysis. You will develop practical expertise in using specialist equipment, applying chemical analysis techniques to ensure the safe operation of Royal Navy vessels.

What You’ll Need
- Currently studying towards an undergraduate degree in a science-based subject (including Chemistry, Chemical, Environmental, or general Science degrees).
- Comfortable working in diverse operational environments, potentially including working at height, within confined spaces, and in radiological areas (full training and safety support provided).
- This is a site-based programme; you should live within a commutable distance or be willing to relocate.
- A valid driving licence is preferable, as you may need to transport radiological materials.
- Eligibility for Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), Security Check (SC), and Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) clearance is required. Note that your place of birth, nationality, citizenship, or residency may impact eligibility due to Security Clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
