About the Programme
Join our two-year Quality Graduate Programme designed to equip you with a solid foundation in quality management while providing hands-on experience in project environments from day one. You will develop a deep understanding of core quality principles, including how standards and specifications ensure consistency, compliance, and high performance. This programme offers insight into the practical application of quality in construction and its relationship with engineering.
What You'll Do
Explore key areas such as risk management and management systems, and gain valuable experience in both internal and external auditing. You will learn to differentiate between assurance and control, and discover how data is used to monitor performance and drive continuous improvement. The role is primarily based at Devonport Royal Dockyard, with opportunities for supplier visits, inspections, and project interventions.
Development and Support
From day one, you will receive structured support, tailored training, and dedicated mentorship. You'll join our Graduate Development Programme, featuring expert-led masterclasses. We will support your journey towards professional chartership with the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI), progressing from entry level to Practitioner level (PCQI).
Career Progression
Upon successful completion of the programme, you will transition into a permanent role within our Quality function, building on your learned expertise. You will continue to receive support for professional development and progression into more senior roles. The Babcock Role Framework provides clear pathways for career advancement.

Requirements
- Achieved, or be on track to achieve, a 2:2 or above in any degree.
- A full UK driving licence is beneficial.
- Must be able to achieve and maintain Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC) clearance.
- Must be a sole UK national for security and trade control restrictions.
Location
This programme is based in Devonport, Plymouth, working in partnership with the Ministry of Defence (MOD) and Royal Navy.
