As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for providing assurance that QinetiQ and its suppliers are operating safely, compliantly, efficiently, and effectively in a given domain. Day-to-day, you’ll identify continuous improvements to meet the requirements of regulators and the business, assuring a supplier’s ability to deliver a fit-for-purpose, on-time output, and identifying any actions required to improve supplier performance.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Plan, scope, and deliver audits of processes, products, and suppliers to ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, ISO standards, and company procedures.
- Identify and manage quality, safety, and compliance risks, driving corrective actions and communicating issues to appropriate stakeholders.
- Provide supply chain assurance through supplier audits, risk assessments, and recommendations to improve compliance and performance.
- Support supplier and project management activities, including management plans, quality plans, regulatory compliance, and project documentation.
- Lead and coordinate internal and external audits, including audit preparation, responses, reporting, and management reviews.
- Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement by sharing best practices, producing quality artefacts, and acting as a trusted quality advisor across the business.
Essential Experience:
- Strong knowledge of Project and Engineering Management processes, with an understanding of how quality requirements are applied throughout the project lifecycle.
- Comprehensive understanding of legislation, regulations, ISO standards, contractual requirements, and customer-specific quality management systems.
- Proven track record in Quality Assurance and Supply Chain Assurance, delivering audits and compliance activities within complex environments.
- Experienced lead auditor, with the ability to assess supplier compliance and ensure regulatory and contractual requirements are effectively flowed down through the supply chain.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, able to build strong relationships and influence audiences at all levels.
- Skilled in root cause analysis and continuous improvement, using structured methodologies to identify issues, implement corrective actions, and enhance business performance.
Essential Qualifications:
- ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or equivalent certification.

Location and Working Hours
This role is 37 hours per week based at our Farnborough site with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week.
