Boeing Defence UK (BDUK) Ltd is seeking a Quality Engineer to oversee Quality Assurance and Compliance monitoring for the Apache AH-64E Platform within the Rotary Wing Enterprise (RWE) program. This crucial role, based at Middle Wallop, UK, ensures maintenance activities on the AH-64E aircraft adhere to stringent regulatory standards and accreditations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure Quality Management System (QMS) assurance through active engagement with aircraft maintenance functions.
- Conduct internal audits as part of the BDUK Single Audit Schedule for MRP Part 145 and AS9110 / AS9100.
- Support audit preparation for upcoming external quality audits.
- Formulate compliance responses and corrective action plans based on audit findings.
- Maintain regulatory approvals by monitoring and validating compliance with all associated standards.
About the Role:
BDUK's QMS is approved by the Military Aviation Authority (MAA) and meets the requirements of MAOS and CFAOS. It is certified to AS9110C / AS9100D, with additional accreditations including ISO 9001, ISO 27001, and ISO 44001. The company aims to expand these approvals to support new platforms and growth opportunities within the UK Defence Environment.
The Quality Engineer will be a key member of the Vertical Lift Quality Team, reporting to the Apache Quality Lead and working under the direction of the Vertical Lift Quality Manager. This role is vital in assuring current regulatory approvals and certifications and supporting organizational compliance.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Ability to gain UK SC clearance.
- Experience in aviation quality within a regulated military or civil aerospace maintenance environment.
- Skilled in internal auditing with experience executing audit schedules against formal aviation standards.
- Mobility to travel to various alternative work sites across the UK as operationally required.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge of MAA regulations, including MRP Part 145, MAOS, or CFAOS frameworks.
- Expertise in aerospace standards such as AS9110C, AS9100D, or ISO 9001 quality systems.
- Familiarity with the Apache platform or specific technical experience with rotary-wing aircraft systems.
