Programme Management at Airbus

Programme Management is central to delivering significant value to the Airbus business. It is crucial for delivering innovative products to our customers within agreed timescales, allocated budgets, and to the highest quality standards.

The Role

This role is within the Project Management office, supporting our Value Stream Management (VSM) teams and working alongside our programme leaders. The VSM teams in Broughton are currently in the most exciting ramp-up phase and associated projects of a generation. VSMs are responsible for the flow of methods, personnel, and materials from the supply chain through to Final Operational Test on the Final Assembly Lines.

What You Will Be Doing

You will learn to deploy Best Practice project management methods and tools within our programmes, projects, and functions. This may include:

• Agile and waterfall project setup.
• Project maturity and governance, including lessons learned.
• Integrated schedule planning.
• Baselining projects and identifying critical path activities.
• Risk and opportunity management.
• Creating and maintaining digital project monitoring and control processes (e.g., digital data analysis).
• Finance monitoring and control.

You will collaborate daily with multi-functional team members, ensuring that all team members deliver on time, on cost, and on quality, while understanding how each function contributes to project success.

Requirements

This placement is open to Undergraduates only. It is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the entire duration of the placement. Please inform your graduation date on your application.

What We Are Looking For

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:

• Currently studying towards an undergraduate degree in Project Management, Business Management, IT & Information Systems, Engineering, Manufacturing, Economics, or any Science discipline.
• Prior experience working within project teams is advantageous.
• Experience with digital tools would be useful.
• Strong self-motivation, enthusiasm, and a drive to seek out new opportunities.
• Eagerness to learn, grow, and acquire new skill sets.
• Ability to take initiative independently and adapt smoothly to changing workplace challenges.

Security Clearance

You will be subject to a BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check. You may also need to gain UK SC-level Security Clearance or Export Control, depending on the role.

Salary: £24,246 per annum

Working Hours: 35 hours per week, with flexible working hours and half-day Fridays. Hybrid working options are available depending on the role.

Holiday: 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
