About the Role
Airbus Defence and Space's Digital Payload Centre of Competence is responsible for Communications Satellites sub-systems and equipment, contributing to global connectivity. You will join a transnational team based in Portsmouth, UK, working as part of the wider Space Engineering Function.
This Engineering Delivery Internship offers the chance to support the Project Delivery Team, which comprises over 30 Project Managers and Development Responsibles. The team's core objective is to achieve project goals (time, scope, cost, quality) while ensuring customer satisfaction and compliance with regulations.
What You Will Be Doing:
The Engineering Delivery Intern will provide crucial support to the Project Delivery Team by:
- Running small projects or work packages.
- Administering and managing cross-project processes and governance.
- Building and running tools, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and action trackers to improve team efficiency.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Defining, implementing, and driving a project team/organization throughout all project phases, including managing personnel from other functions in a matrix organization.
- Ensuring the effective integration of lessons learned.
- Managing risks, opportunities, and contracts (internal or external).
- Overseeing the effective management of partners and suppliers.
Requirements
This placement is specifically for undergraduates and requires candidates to be enrolled in an undergraduate program for the entire duration of the placement. Please indicate your graduation date in your application.

What We Are Looking For:
- Currently studying towards a degree in Engineering, Physics, or Business.
- Demonstrable interest in Project, Business, or Engineering Management.
- Familiarity with Google business tools (Sheets, Docs, Slides, etc.).
- An energetic, approachable, and positive team player with a hands-on, proactive approach.
Security Clearance:
You will be subject to a BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check. Depending on the specific role, UK SC-level Security Clearance or Export Control may also be required.
