Position Summary
Working within an Operational Business Unit (OBU) as part of the Planning & Control team, you will be responsible for a defined portfolio of products, components, or manufacturing areas. You will work closely with Production Leaders to ensure adherence to the accepted plan for internal and external customers, while maintaining MRP and supporting systems. Your role will involve identifying and prioritizing delivery issues, escalating appropriately, and assisting in the mitigation and resolution of risks that could impact delivery and inventory performance. You will be the first point of contact for delivery-related queries from the external or internal supply chain and will support the incorporation of new products by ensuring the plant executes agreed delivery plans.
What you will be doing:
- Production Controlling: Ensure adherence to the plan at machine level using machine scheduling techniques to control production flow in line with customer expectations. Make priority calls during resource contention.
- Planning Systems Management: Ensure all planning systems used for production control are managed and maintained daily, including inbound SUBCON/Supplier delivery commitments, in line with the Rolls-Royce Production System (RRPS).
- Adherence & Issue Resolution: Work with extended functional teams to ensure adherence to the agreed business plan. Identify, mitigate, and prioritize effective resolution for performance divergences. Escalate delivery issues, mitigation actions, and recovery plans as appropriate, using standard tools, processes, and metrics.
- Production Reporting: Monitor SMWIP, Production Order Adherence, and Throughput.
- SUBCON and Customer Management: Conduct regular reviews and communicate on delivery plans, measure SLA adherence, and escalate issues when required.
- Material Availability: Interface with the order controller for early identification and assessment of potential shortages and excesses affecting the business plan, ensuring mitigation actions are completed and escalating where appropriate.
- 4 Weekly Planning: Continuously realign the short-term delivery plan with customer requirements, liaising with planners as needed.
- Exception Management: Manage exception messages and conduct ERP compliance reviews.
- Support Reviews: Support OBU critical delivery reviews by providing updated plans and commitments in the executive system. Provide delivery commitments and action status through relevant PI executive tools and systems.
- Return of Parts: Support the return of parts to a supplier or plant where non-conformance is identified.
- Logistics Liaison: Liaise with the in-factory logistics team to ensure timely receipt and despatch of parts.
- Delivery Issue Resolution: Work with stakeholders and third-party service providers to resolve all inbound delivery issues into CFBU or other plants, including Stock in Transit, GRIP, and NCR stock.
Preferred Requirements:
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including proficiency with VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, Pivot Tables, conditional formatting, and data validation.
- Experience extracting, analyzing, manipulating, and presenting data to support business decisions.
- Excellent attention to detail, ability to identify trends and anomalies, and experience producing accurate reports, dashboards, and performance metrics.
- Comfortable handling high volumes of data, maintaining data integrity, and working to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
