As a Principal Process Engineer in Business Winning, you will be instrumental in defining the technical solutions and engineering excellence that secure projects powering the UK’s clean energy, defence, and decommissioning future. Your leadership in multidisciplinary engineering will strengthen bids, influence high-value programmes, and contribute directly to protecting national capability.
The Role
As a Principal Process Engineer, you will provide essential process engineering leadership across complex bids and early-stage project definition within our Business Winning team. This is a full-time, permanent role, based at one of our main sites (Warrington, Preston, Leicester, Newbury, or Bristol) with hybrid working arrangements available. Travel to other Cavendish Nuclear and customer locations may be required.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Leading the process engineering elements of bids.
- Developing and delivering engineering scope, schedules, and resource plans.
- Ensuring technical integrity, compliance, and quality.
- Producing and reviewing technical reports and verification plans.
- Promoting engineering best practice and mentoring others.
Essential Experience
- Significant demonstrable experience in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards it.
- Experience managing teams delivering technical activities.
- Ability to interface effectively with multiple disciplines and stakeholders.
- Strong communication and influencing skills.
Qualifications
- Essential: Engineering degree (or equivalent) with significant relevant experience.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national and able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance.
