Principal Manufacturing Engineer
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Principal Manufacturing Engineer within the Manufacturing Engineering team. This leadership role is responsible for the day-to-day management of the team, ensuring project and functional workloads are completed on time. You will lead continuous improvement activities, represent the manufacturing team at various forums, and be accountable for the team's overall delivery.
Key responsibilities include people management, covering aspects such as sickness & absence, appraisals, holidays, workload allocation, and individual output. This role also provides a significant opportunity for personal growth within manufacturing, contributing to areas such as Industrial Validation, manufacturing architecture, and factory of the future principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Senior Manufacturing Engineers in their day-to-day technical roles.
- Support the manufacturing area in its growth and rate increases.
- Drive continuous improvement throughout the team and organisation, leading CI activities.
- Support manufacturing architecture plans to operate lean principles.
- Compile business cases for process improvements and factory of the future concepts.
- Support the Non-Conformance Process.
- Interface with the design authority during product prototype/development phases to ensure optimized Design for Manufacture (DfM).
- Ensure processes and equipment contribute to a safe working environment, adhering to company processes and legal obligations.
