About the Role
We are offering a 12-month internship opportunity for undergraduates within the Aerospace Mechanical Engineering Design Office at Airbus Defence and Space in Stevenage. You will be working within the Physical Design PMTD team on the DDMS (Digital Design and Manufacturing Service) improvement Project. This project aims to deliver significant financial savings by reducing waste and leveraging digitalization to enhance end-to-end business processes.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Specifying, developing, and documenting process changes required for the successful deployment of a new toolset, including 3DExperience / Catia V6.
- Contributing to a leaner way of working through close interaction with stakeholders inside and outside the Mechanical Design Office.
- Producing a final report detailing project outcomes, to be presented to department managers and key stakeholders.
About You:
This placement is open to Undergraduates only, and it is mandatory to be an undergraduate for the entire duration of the placement.
- Ideally, you are currently studying a Mechanical Engineering degree.
- Experience and knowledge of CAD/CAM tools, with a preference for Dassault System tools (Catia V5 or V6, Delmia, Apriso).
- Some programming skills in languages such as VB, VB.net, php, mysql, or C#.
What We Offer:
- Salary: £24,500 per annum.
- Working hours: 37 hours per week.
- Flexible working hours and hybrid working options available, depending on the role.
- Half day Fridays (subject to completing full hours).
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
Security Clearance:
You will be subject to a BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check. Depending on the role, you may also be required to obtain UK SC-level Security Clearance or Export Control.
