Manufacturing Materials Controller

The Role
As a Manufacturing Materials Controller, you will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of Manufacturing Bills of Materials (BoMs), creating and controlling Manufacturing Job Cards, Stock Management, and Material Management for all Aviation Engineering Centre (AEC) Manufacturing activities. You will support the Production Manager, ensuring manufacturing activities meet CAA Part 21 G and AS9100 aerospace requirements, collaborating with Project Delivery Teams and Manufacturing Engineers.
Your Responsibilities:
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all aspects of Material Control within the AEC, providing mentoring, guidance, and support in a collaborative manner.
- Review design data to ensure all consumables, procured parts, and manufactured details are considered and meet project lead time and cost constraints.
- Create and maintain Manufacturing BoMs within the MRP environment, in collaboration with Project Delivery Teams and Manufacturing Engineers.
- Create Material Masters for Purchased and Manufactured parts.
- Create Work Orders in line with process and any relevant regulatory requirements.
- Implement changes to Manufacturing BoMs applying robust Change Management.
Essential Experience:
- Competency and experience working within a production/manufacturing planning environment.
- Awareness of wider Aviation industry practice and general Engineering best practice.
- Experience operating an MRP system in an Aerospace or similar environment.
- Familiarity with Production plans and Outputs.
- Familiarity with Backflush Material Operations.
- Ability to read and understand Engineering drawings.
Essential Qualifications:
- HNC Level in Engineering or equivalent evidence of experience and development to this level, with evidence of Continuous Professional Development.

Location & Hours
This role is 37 hours per week based at our Amesbury (Boscombe Down) site. MOD Boscombe Down is a unique operational site, primarily focusing on providing testing, evaluation, and support services for aviation and aerospace systems.
Please note that all applicants for this role must be eligible for SC clearance, as a minimum.
