Manufacturing Engineering Intern - Boeing Fabrication
Boeing Fabrication is seeking a motivated Manufacturing Engineering Intern to join our team in Sheffield. As an integral part of the internal supply chain for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, you will contribute to the production of a wide range of aircraft components.
This 12-month placement, commencing July 2027, provides a fantastic opportunity to work within the Production Engineering department. You will be mentored by experienced Manufacturing Engineers, playing a key role in identifying, scoping, and delivering improvement projects within our production system. You will also support the wider team with problem-solving and technical queries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, develop, and manage projects across the production system.
- Apply fundamental engineering concepts (mathematics, mechanics, materials, etc.) to manufacturing.
- Engage in manufacturing engineering management, including project planning and risk assessment.
- Report project progress to stakeholders and leadership.
- Utilize a data-driven approach to assess and measure project impacts.
About You:
We are looking for candidates who are studying for, or have recently graduated with, a degree in Engineering (ideally MEng/BEng). Preferred qualifications include knowledge or experience in machining/manufacturing, understanding of project management, lean manufacturing/six sigma principles, CAD/CAM software (e.g., Dassault Catia), data processing software (e.g., Minitab, Matlab), strong analytical skills, and excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
