Manufacturing Support Engineer Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen within our development and production manufacturing lines for a dedicated Manufacturing Support Engineer. This role is crucial for translating design requirements into clear user instructions and developing the project's manufacturing architecture. You will be responsible for coordinating day-to-day support for operations staff within the manufacturing facility, ensuring smooth and efficient production.
This role offers significant opportunities for professional growth within manufacturing, aligning with our strategic vision for future opportunities. You will gain valuable experience in Industrial Validation, manufacturing architecture, and 'Factory of the Future' principles, tackling challenging work packages that foster development.
Key Responsibilities:
Working closely with the Principal Engineer, you will contribute to multiple projects, focusing on identifying and resolving manufacturing challenges:
- Support existing manufacturing lines and new product introduction initiatives.
- Assist in the industrial validation process through the use of FMEA's and process proving activities.
- Manage configuration control by embodying design modifications into manufacturing documentation and industrial validation.
- Support the non-conformance process, ensuring efficient resolution.
- Ensure products are manufactured with careful consideration for safety, efficiency, and economic factors.
- Take responsibility for the safe operating implementation of changed processes, liaising with COSHH assessors, SHE, and human factors specialists.
- Collaborate with the design authority during the product prototype/development phase to ensure optimized Design for Manufacture (DfM).
- Compile and update Manufacturing Instructions, maintaining production Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Contribute to tooling development and control processes.
What We Offer:
- Formal technical Engineering/Craft Apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3 and formal further education are required.
- Salary circa £43,500, dependent on experience.
- Dynamic (hybrid) working: 4-5 days per week on-site is required due to the nature of the workload.
