Junior Structural Design Engineer - Combat and UAV Structures
We are seeking a Junior Structural Design Engineer to join our Combat and UAV Structural Design team. In the Combat area, we are responsible for the Eurofighter wing structure, performing design modifications, repairs, Non-Conformities resolution, and supporting in-service aircraft. In the UAS area, we are developing key projects such as Eurodrone, a strategic UAV Defence programme for Europe, and Sirtap, a High Performance Remotely Piloted Aircraft System for the Spanish MoD.
Responsibilities
- Metallic and Composite/Hybrid Structure Design Engineering: Design and validate structural components and assemblies optimized for weight, cost, performance, and production requirements, while ensuring the highest product safety using appropriate design tools and procedures.
- Lifecycle Support: Support the complete lifecycle of an aircraft in an End-to-End process using modern tools and software applications.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Foster strong working relationships with other Engineering departments (e.g., stress, system engineering, aerodynamic engineering) and interface with Design to continuously broaden your knowledge.
- Stakeholder Support: Provide technical expertise to various stakeholders including purchasing, manufacturing engineering, and production. Follow up on design suppliers.
- Project Involvement: Participate in applying the state of the art in design methods within advanced military projects.
- Product Development: See your work implemented in the final product and contribute to continuous improvement and technology projects.
- Discipline Advancement: Participate in the development of the technological areas within the structural discipline.
Skills and Experience
We are looking for a junior Design Engineer with 3 to 5 years of experience in metallic and composite technologies applied to structural design. You should be able to interface effectively with project stakeholders such as Stress, Aerodynamics, and Systems Design teams, and provide technical solutions to project requirements.
