Junior Project Controller
General Dynamics Mission Systems is a leader in engineering high-technology solutions for the defence sector. We develop advanced avionic mission computing systems for military aircraft, integrating aircraft, sensor, and stores management systems to meet demanding operational needs.
As a Junior Project Controller, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Project Managers and Cost Account Managers. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in the creation and maintenance of project plans and schedules.
- Monitoring project costs, resources, risks, and progress against established plans.
- Gathering project information and producing comprehensive reports for stakeholders.
- Supporting project reviews, risk meetings, and the management of action items.
- Highlighting potential project issues and collaborating with the team to find effective solutions.
What you will ideally have:
- A keen interest in developing a career in project planning, project controls, or project management.
- A degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent qualification in Project Management, Business Management, or a related field, or relevant experience in project administration/support.
- Proficiency in IT, including confident use of Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively.
- A proactive attitude, eagerness to learn, and adaptability to changing project priorities.
- Previous experience with Microsoft Project, scheduling, risk management, or project reporting is beneficial but not essential.
- An understanding of how to identify opportunities for AI application in continuous improvement and innovation.
