Internship: Development of a Manufacturing Concept for Automated Composite Production (d/f/m)
Are you a full-time student looking for an internship to gain practical experience in automated fibre placement technologies? Airbus Operations is looking for you to join our innovation field of industrial automation as an intern in Stade.
CTC GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of Airbus Operations GmbH, is Germany's leading centre for research and development in the design and production of large and complex CFRP components. With an international reputation as an expert in process development, series readiness, and production optimisation, CTC focuses on developing series technologies for the production and assembly of CFRP components in aircraft construction.
As an intern at CTC, you will have the opportunity to contribute to various projects, with significant creative freedom, and work with modern and diversified technologies.
Your Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Process development for automated fibre placement and ultrasonic cutting for specific part designs.
- Test Preparation & Execution: Preparation, execution, data processing, and presentation of experimental results.
- Component Design & Automation: Component design and automation programming via offline programming methods.
- Formulation of corresponding design rules and methodologies.
- Regular professional exchange with colleagues in workshops and tech sessions.
- Gain insight into and adapt currently used technologies for fibre composite development in aerospace.
Your Location:
You will be working at our research and development facilities in Stade, located within the CFK valley, between an industrial production environment and a broad landscape of institutes.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Enrolled full-time student in mechanical/lightweight/composites/aerospace engineering, or an equivalent field of study.
- First practical experience in composite manufacturing and robotics.
- First experiences in programming and CAE.
- Ability to work independently and responsibly.
- High intrinsic motivation, teamwork, and communication skills.
- Entrepreneurial thinking and acting.
- Willingness to share knowledge and exchange skills within the team.
- Fluent in English; German is desirable.
