About the Role

Airbus Defence & Space is seeking an Avionics Systems Certification and Airworthiness Engineer (f/h) to join our Technical Certification department based in Toulouse, France. You will be part of a team responsible for developing and ensuring the compliance of military aircraft. Your role will involve managing the certification processes for avionics systems to guarantee flight safety and regulatory compliance for defense programs.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Certification and Compliance Leadership: Direct certification, qualification, and airworthiness maintenance activities for avionics systems (communication, navigation, autopilot, etc.). Manage Type Certification (TC) dossiers and modifications in collaboration with civil and military aviation authorities. Exercise certification delegation responsibilities (DOA/MDOA) to validate system compliance.
  • Risk Management and Technical Support: Identify major technical challenges and associated risks to ensure development program milestones are met. Provide technical expertise during investigations of aircraft incidents or accidents. Support design and R&D teams in reducing risks related to the airworthiness of new technologies.
  • Regulatory Expertise and Representation: Contribute to defining and evolving certification policies within Airbus. Represent the company in international working groups defining industrial standards and regulations. Maintain regulatory watch and disseminate best practices to certification experts (CVE/DAE).

Your Profile:

  • Mandatory: This position requires security clearance or eligibility for clearance by recognized authorities. The candidate must hold French nationality.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Master's degree (Bac+5) in Aerospace Engineering or equivalent. More than 5 years of professional experience in airworthiness or certification processes for avionics or military systems. Fluency in English is essential for daily international context. Negotiation skills and interpersonal ease for interacting with regulatory authorities.
  • An Advantage: Experience interfacing with aviation authorities and proficiency in French, Spanish, or German.
