About the Role
Airbus Defence & Space is seeking an Avionics Systems Certification and Airworthiness Engineer (m/f/d) to join our Technical Certification department in Toulouse, France. You will be part of a team responsible for developing and ensuring the compliance of military aircraft.
Your Missions
Within the Technical Certification department, you will be involved in managing the certification processes for avionics systems to ensure flight safety and regulatory compliance for defense programs.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead Certification and Compliance: Direct certification, qualification, and airworthiness activities for avionics systems (communication, navigation, autopilot, etc.). Manage Type Certification (TC) dossiers and modifications in coordination with civil and military aviation authorities. Exercise Design Organisation Approval (DOA) / Multi Design Organisation Approval (MDOA) responsibilities to validate system compliance.
- Risk Management and Technical Support: Identify major technical issues and associated risks to ensure development milestones are met. Provide technical expertise during investigations of flight incidents or accidents. Support design and R&D teams to reduce risks related to the airworthiness of new technologies.
- Regulatory Expertise and Representation: Contribute to defining and evolving certification policies within Airbus. Represent the company in international working groups responsible for defining industrial standards and regulations. Ensure regulatory watch and disseminate best practices among certification experts (CVE/DAE).
Your Profile
- Mandatory Requirements: This position requires security clearance or eligibility for clearance by recognized authorities. The candidate must hold French nationality in accordance with IGI 1300 of August 9, 2021 (§1.2.2.1).
- Skills and Qualifications: Master's degree (Bac+5) in Aerospace Engineering or equivalent. Over 5 years of professional experience in the airworthiness or certification processes of avionics or military systems. Fluency in English (daily international context). Negotiation skills and interpersonal ease for interacting with regulatory authorities.
- Advantageous: Experience interfacing with aviation authorities and proficiency in French, Spanish, or German.
