The Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP) is a trilateral initiative involving Italy, Japan, and the United Kingdom, aimed at delivering an innovative stealth fighter for future threats and contributing to global security.
About the Role:
As a Business Analyst within the GCAP programme, you will be instrumental in understanding key business requirements and translating them into IT solutions. You will lead and undertake business analysis on large, complex IT-enabled business change projects and programmes, guiding business ideas from conception through to implementation.
What you will be doing:
- Lead business analysis activities across all GCAP IT initiatives, including stakeholder management, requirements gathering, business process analysis, and project definition.
- Adopt a holistic approach to gathering requirements for common business problems within GCAP, such as cross-partner secure communication, collaboration, information exchange, secure access, and application/data requirements.
- Influence and collaborate on business analysis activities with external partners on GCAP.
- Support compliance activities through GCAP governance boards and provide input to Defence IT/Central IT governance to ensure delivered capabilities meet all applicable regulations.
- Create project documentation, including requirements summaries, as-is/to-be analyses, process mapping, data flows, and stakeholder maps.

- Demonstrable knowledge of IT delivery in Defence or high-compliance industries.
- Demonstrable IT and business analyst knowledge, evidenced by a TOGAF qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
- A broad range of business analysis skills, including requirements gathering and engineering, user story development, personas, business process modelling, and workshop facilitation.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage senior business stakeholders, articulate technical concepts and roadmaps, and build effective relationships quickly at all organizational levels.
