Facilities Maintenance Engineer

As a Facilities Maintenance Engineer based in Walsall, West Midlands, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the facilities and infrastructure that support vital operational activities. The Role
As a Facilities Maintenance Engineer, you will provide essential operational facilities maintenance support across the site. Your responsibilities will include ensuring that buildings, equipment, and infrastructure are safe, reliable, and fit for purpose. This varied position allows you to combine your electrical and facilities maintenance expertise.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance activities across site facilities and equipment.
- Respond to breakdowns, conduct fault-finding, and ensure systems are made safe and restored efficiently.
- Maintain tools, equipment, site assets, grounds, and housekeeping standards.
- Support contractors and stakeholders by coordinating activities and providing safe site access.
- Update maintenance records, adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures, and identify improvement opportunities.
This is a full-time, permanent role, working 39 hours per week, based in Walsall. Standard working hours are Monday to Thursday, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, and Friday, 7:00 am to 12:00 pm, with flexibility available.
Essential Experience:
- Previous facilities maintenance experience.
- Electrical maintenance experience.
- Basic Health and Safety awareness.
- Strong problem-solving and fault-finding capabilities.
- Good IT skills and a willingness to learn business systems.
Qualifications:
- 18th Edition Qualified (C&G 2382-22) (desirable)
- Test and Inspection Qualified (C&G 2391) (desirable)
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) and Non-Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV) security clearance for this role. Eligibility may be affected by birthplace, nationality, citizenship, and residency. For more details, please refer to UKSV guidance.
