Engineering Controller - MRTT Projects

We are seeking a skilled Engineering Controller to join the Engineering Controlling Team (TFAOE) based in Getafe. This role is crucial for the planning, controlling, and steering of the engineering contribution to the Airbus Derivatives (MRTT) projects. You will serve as a Business Partner to the Chief Engineering organisation, providing comprehensive financial support throughout the project lifecycle, from bidding to execution, including EAC (Estimate at Completion) and day-to-day financial management.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Manage and cascade targets set by programs through the convergence process to effectively steer the business (e.g., Org Area, Personnel hours/Subco./Material).
• Ensure adherence of actual costs to targets during the execution phase and provide transparent reporting at the program level.
• Deliver high-quality, timely financial reports that offer meaningful insights into status versus targets, highlight deltas (especially those outside EAC scope like late modifications, extraordinary developments, certifications), and ensure consistency and harmonization in reporting processes.
• Analyze quantitative and qualitative performance data against budgets/targets, identifying discrepancies, risks, and opportunities to ensure early deviation detection and guide recovery measures.
• Support workload planning cycles according to central Finance requirements, focusing on consistency across planning cycles (e.g., EAC), alignment with program directives and assumptions, and validation of workload affordability against program funding.
• Enhance the implementation and usage of financial tools (e.g., CMA, SimpliFi, UP) for greater controlling efficiency, while managing existing operational tools (e.g., myWorkload).
• Further develop Business Partnering capabilities with Chief Engineers.

Relevant Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Management, or equivalent.
• Previous experience in Function or Project/Program Controlling.
• Financially aware with strong business partnering acumen.
• Experience in an engineering environment is advantageous.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace tools, particularly Excel and Sheets.
• Spanish and English language skills at a negotiation level.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive and independent working style.
• Critical thinking ability and capacity to constructively challenge the operational business.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent team-working skills and willingness to work in a transnational environment.
• Interest in IT topics and automation; knowledge of reporting tools is a plus.
