About the Role
This role is within the Avionic Systems - Systems Engineering team, part of the Technical Disciplines Group within the Engineering Directorate. The team is the central point for the definition, development, integration, and certification of a wide range of avionics systems, including Displays, Sensor Systems, Communication and Navigation Systems, Vehicle Monitoring Systems, Mission Systems, and Flight Data Recorders.
Key Responsibilities
As an Avionic Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Capturing, allocating, deriving, validating, and verifying Avionics System requirements, and defining system architecture based on operational and certification requirements.
- Defining electro-avionics design and integration, including functional schematics and subsystem interface control documents.
- Developing system-level requirements for software components.
- Managing the Avionics System Development Lifecycle, including leading and supporting technical design reviews and certification reviews (e.g., System Requirements Review, Design Reviews, Test Readiness Review, Flight Clearance, Final Qualification Reviews).
- Preparing detailed equipment and systems specifications, Statements of Work, and monitoring supplier development and qualification.
- Preparing and executing bench and aircraft test procedures for Avionics systems, and participating in aircraft trials.
- Preparing certification documentation for Avionics Systems (e.g., Design Report, Test Plans & Reports, Analysis, Qualification and Compliance Reports).
- Providing technical management of external suppliers.
- Supporting Production and Customer Support with troubleshooting and aircraft test execution.
- Acting as a liaison with internal and external Customers.
- Supporting bid activities with future Customers.
Activities Include
- Defining and developing integration requirements, system analysis, and architecture of Avionic Systems.
- Preparing comprehensive documentation.
- Performing analysis of integration requirements, systems, and architectures.
- Tracing and prioritizing integration requirements and system analysis.
- Managing agreements on integration requirements, system analysis, and architecture.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aeronautical, Electrical, Electronic, or Automation Engineering.
- Good command of English (written and spoken).
- Strong problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
