About the Role

Are you passionate about engineering and looking to design high-integrity, complex systems? MBDA delivers cutting-edge products to nations and customers across the world, and our Power Electronics team is critical to the development of these products. As a Technical Lead, you will play an integral part in delivering the design definition of electronic sub-systems in one of two key areas: Power Electronics or Firing Units.

Key Responsibilities

  • Power Electronics: Focus on electronics that power and control motors for maneuvering fins, providing controlled movement to our products.
  • Firing Units: Work on functionalities such as Safety and Arming, Control panels, and Command and Control sub-systems across Land, Sea, and Air domains.
  • Lead a team of engineers deployed to the project and collaborate with other departments (e.g., mechanical design, manufacturing).
  • Manage activities from early feasibility and technology assessments through to detailed design, qualification, certification, and supporting transition to production.
  • Operate in all stages of the product lifecycle, ensuring products meet quality, cost, and schedule targets.
  • Work closely with a wide range of stakeholders as part of multi-disciplinary teams.

Location & Working Arrangements

Location: Stevenage. Relocation assistance may be available.

Working Pattern: Dynamic (hybrid) working, typically 3 days per week on site. We aim to accommodate a blended approach to on-site and remote working where possible.

Candidates must be a British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. All successful candidates will be required to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) checks after an offer is made.
