This is a mission-driven opportunity for a Communications Manager to lead the development, integration, and execution of the strategic communication plan aligned with the organisation’s strategic priorities. The role scope includes the execution of Northrop Grumman UK’s Marcomms activities, encompassing media relations, brand development, and employee communication strategies.

Northrop Grumman UK is a key focus country in the company’s global expansion strategy, with a current operation of over 500 employees and projected significant revenue growth. This role is crucial in creating a platform to support this expansion and Northrop Grumman’s evolution into a truly global player.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and facilitate the implementation of an integrated communication strategy to build NG UK’s reputation externally and culture internally.
• Collaborate with International, Corporate, and Sector Communications teams for approvals, guidance, and synergies.
• Assist in developing communication strategies and messages from senior leadership.
• Deliver structured engagement with customers, media, employees, and the community through events, partnerships, and membership organisations.
• Develop key employee communication channels and content, including messages from the UK Leadership team.
• Evolve the NG UK digital presence through channels such as NG.com, LinkedIn, and the NG UK intranet.
• Liaise with media and handle requests for interviews and statements from senior leadership.
• Foster relationships with advocates and key persons critical to developing the NG UK market presence and brand.
• Provide subject matter expertise and advice to senior leaders and internal communication professionals.
• Lead, coach, and develop direct reports.
• Ensure communications budgets, schedules, and performance standards are met.
• Represent NG UK as an internal & external contact on communication initiatives, interacting with director & VP-level customer management, and influencing customer perceptions.
• Role model the NG corporate leadership behaviours and values.
• Work with the Trade Show Steering Committee to deliver NGUK’s participation at all UK tier 1 trade shows, including DSEI and RIAT.
• Facilitate NGUK’s participation at events with leadership and BD teams, including event strategy, branding, collateral, invitations, and on-the-ground management.
• Manage NGUK’s relationships with membership organisations, think tanks, charities, and STEM partners.

What We're Looking For:

• Experience in developing end-to-end, multi-channel communications plans.
• Ability to provide communication advice on business issues and market fluctuations.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Capability to identify and act on communication opportunities and challenges arising from business or macro-level change.
• Proven experience in leading the successful implementation of customer events.
• Skills in writing media releases, speeches, and feature stories for external publication.
• Experience in delivering external communications campaigns (earned and unearned) via web and social media (particularly LinkedIn) to multiple audiences.
• Ability to manage and leverage relationships with third-party stakeholder organisations (e.g., membership organisations, professional bodies, media agencies, think tanks).
• Experience in developing and implementing an operational budget.
